Henderson Symphony Orchestra's 20/21 Season: WE ARE HERE

Making music, strengthening community, celebrating diversity.

About a year ago, we launched our New Frontiers season celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Man in the moon with a journey of human kind’s achievements in music and science as a reflection on how far we can go when we dare to be curious, use our imagination and follow our dreams. Originally, the final concert of the season was supposed be “Hidden Figures,” with music inspired by diverse women leaders and scientists that merged into our 2020 season.

Due to COVID-19 we had to cancel some of our concerts. The world changed overnight and a series of events made us rethink our place in a world that, more than ever, needs to heal as an inclusive society in which all are represented.

WE ARE HERE is a musical journey of healing and an invitation to reflect about changes that will transform us into a more inclusive, conscious, empathic, and better world.

Featuring: Jessie Montgomery, Philip Glass, Dabrinka Tabakova, Samuel Barber, Antonín Dvořák, Huang Ruo, Ludwig van Beethoven, Astor Piazzolla, and the premiere of "Celestial Surroundings", a commissioned work by southern Nevada composer Jennifer Bellor.

Our audience at last season's intimate performance at the LVAG Gallery was excited to hear individual instruments up close in small sections and to see the musicians that are typically in the back of the orchestra front and center. Inspired by our fans and our mission to make music accessible to all people, we are proud to announce our "Pop-up" concert series HSO Go!

Enjoy HSO Go solo and chamber music performed by feature players and sections of our orchestra in "pop-up" locations around the valley in collaboration with our community partners. These unique experiences in non-traditional spaces offer an isolated type of sound and color that is often missed when blended with the full orchestra and allow diverse artists and instruments to take center stage.

Our pop-up events are community celebrations and intimate site-specific performances.

Look for the HSO Go logo or icon to identify a pop-up event.

The HSO Go series has a spontaneous schedule. Don't miss our event announcements! Be sure to subscribe to our Henderson High Notes newsletter and follow us on Facebook and Instagram.

The care of our community is our first priority. We are committed to offering events that meet the highest health standards for public gatherings. Our Master Series will take place in the Spring of 2021 to provide optimal conditions. The majority of events will be outdoors in 2020/2021.

A cornerstone of Southern Nevada culture since 1987.

Henderson Symphony Orchestra's mission is to promote classical music appreciation to a diverse audience through performance, educational outreach, and artistic collaborations.
